BHM Doc & Discuss: Reflections Unheard-Black Women in Civil Rights

February 10 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

In honor of BLACK HISTORY MONTH, please join the Emily Taylor Center for Women and Gender Equity & Office of Multicultural Affairs for a screening and discussion of the documentary REFLECTIONS UNHEARD: BLACK WOMEN IN CIVIL RIGHTS on Monday, February 10th at 6:30 pm in the Lawrence Public Library Auditorium.

Directed by Nevline Nnaji, REFLECTIONS UNHEARD unearths the story of Black women’s political marginalization — between the male-dominated Black Power movement and second wave feminism, which was largely white and middle class — showing how each failed to recognize Black women’s intersecting racial and gender identities.
