What: Breast Cancer Awareness Month Tabling

When: Wednesday, October 23rd
Time: 10:00 AM -12:00 PM
Where: KU Memorial Union

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Wednesday, 10/23, 10 – 12 noon, stop by the Emily Taylor Center for Women and Gender Equity‘s table in the 4th Floor Lobby of the KU Memorial Union.

Learn how to perform a breast self-exam, which can help you detect breast cancer earlier when it is easier to treat.

Pick up informational “Breast Cancer: Know the Signs” and “Think Before You Pink” mini zines.

And, grab a feminist Breast Cancer Awareness button or two!

In addition to encouraging folks to perform breast self-exams, we also encourage you to “think before you pink.”

Instead of supporting corporations by purchasing pink products ― many of which are carcinogenic and few of which actually financially benefit breast cancer organizations in any significant way ― support organizations like Breast Cancer Action, a national, feminist, grassroots education and advocacy organization that addresses the breast cancer epidemic as a public health crisis as well as a social and environmental justice issue.
