Decoding Space: Liquid Infrastructures
November 6, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Free
Ron Morrison is an interdisciplinary designer, artist, and researcher working across the fields of critical data studies, black feminist praxis, and geography. Focusing on boundaries, subjectivity, and evidence, “Decoding Space: Liquid Infrastructures” meditates on redlining, a popular narrative of post-WWII economic segregation and a conceptual framework that is often engaged to explain contemporary patterns of poverty and racial segregation. This workshop engages redlining and subaltern geographies as a critical intervention in reframing race, space, knowledge, and data.
