From Choro to Jazz: Brazilian & American Sound Bridges

Come for an evening of instrumental music from Brazil and the Unites States. The night will feature Brazilian clarinetist Juvino Alves Filho and musicians from the University of Kansas and Kansas City.Prof. Filho has a PhD in Music from the Federal University of Bahia in Brazil and is a Professor at the Federal University of the Recôncavo of Bahia. He has performed with various orchestras and bands in Germany, Portugal, and Brazil. He produced Cartas Musicaes (CD) and authored A Clarineta Pelas Bandas da Bahia: O Legado de Manuel Tranquillino Bastos. Prof. Filho will be accompanied by Stanley Sheldon, Jordan Ayala, Dylan Bassett, Alejandro Ávila, and Luciano Tosta.
