Lunchtime Conversation with Dot Nary and the Evolution of Language: views from the disability community.
Dot Nary, Assistant Research Professor from the Research and Training Center on Independent Living will lead a panel on the growing debate between the use of People First Language and the growing use of Identity First Language. She will be joined by Stephanie West-Potter of the Disability Rights Center of Kansas, the two will discuss how we should use respectful language for people with disabilities and what that means. The panel will take place in Dole 1052, the LSI Conference Room from 1:30-2:30 on February 11th. We hope you can join us for this lunchtime conversation!
