New Media: Transformation of Communication

December 3 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Free

COMS 410: Micro-level Organizational Communication class is hosting a series of panel discussions.  And you’re invited! The Panel Discussion Series assignment is a semester-long group project that directly and meaningfully connects ideas from the course material with the experiences of professionals in our community. Each panel will last approximately 45 minutes with a 10-15 minute audience Q&A session. These panels give students the opportunity to gain first-hand information about significant work place issues, while also making contacts in the community. Their projects create an opportunity for them to practice networking, impression management, problem-solving, presentation, interviewing, listening, and other professionally-oriented communication skills.

Panelists: Angie Pastorek, Ph.D. KU Faculty, Department of Communication Studies & Director of Professional Workplace Communication Graduate Certificate; David Guth, KU Associate Professor of Journalism; Howard Graham, KU Associate Director Academic Programs; Alcides Velasquez; KU Assistant Professor of Communication Studies
