Science, Gender, and Myths of Merit

All are invited to attend a workshop titled “Science, Gender, and Myths of Merit” on Wednesday October 11, 10:00-11:30 PM in the Jayhawk Room of the Kansas Union.  Sponsored by  the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, the Emily Taylor Center for Women & Gender Equity and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, this workshop will be conducted by Dr. Marlene Zuk, from the University of Minnesota.  Dr. Zuk is an outstanding evolutionary biologist who explores sexual selection and animal behavior.  She is also a champion for equity in science and will address this issue in the workshop, which she has conducted at other universities.  Her contributions to discussing diversity includes serving as a panelist for a discussion on diversity at the meeting of a national scientific society and addressing gender issues in several articles.

Please RSVP for the workshop at https://emilytaylorcenter.ku.edu/rsvp-dr-marlene-zuk so that we have a count for refreshments.
